Fall Fair Season

This is the season when many of our clients participate in Fall Fairs throughout the county. Please send us photos of you and your animals winning ribbons or just having fun (with a brief description), and we will feature them on our Facebook page and website.

Client Survey Response

Several weeks ago we asked for your opinion on changes we could make that would allow us to better serve you. We had a fantastic response rate to our survey and you provided us with many quality suggestions. At our staff meetings since the survey, we have been discussing your suggestions, and you will begin to see some of them implemented in the very near future.

Upcoming Name Change

One of the exciting changes coming up in the practice will be a new name that we feel better represents who we are and the clients we serve. Stay tuned for an upcoming announcement as we reveal our new name.

October 21, 2018 UPDATE: We are now Central Ontario Veterinary Services!

RVT Month!

Registered Veterinary Technicians (RVTs) are formally educated professionals who worked hard to gain their credential and deserve recognition for all they do, so we wanted to take the opportunity to re-introduce our RVTs.

Katelyn Diamantakos, RVT

Graduated from Georgian College in 2009 and has worked as an equine technician in both mobile and referral/surgical practices in Ontario. Katelyn was been a part of our team for 5 years.

Hailey Farkas, RVT

Graduated from Seneca College in 2011 and has worked in small, exotic and wildlife medicine, as well as equine medicine and food production. Hailey has been part of the team for 1 year.

In Ontario, RVTs are required to complete 20 credits of Continuing Education every two years to maintain their credentials. This ensures that RVTs are continually learning and growing within their field.

In our practice, RVTs provide the veterinarians with skilled assistance at our farm calls, and make follow-up calls to administer treatments prescribed by the veterinarians. In the office, they are some of the friendly voices on the phone able to accurately triage your cases. They also maintain our pharmacy, dispense medications, perform laboratory tests, prepare samples for shipment to outside laboratories, and perform a host of other tasks essential to the efficient provision of veterinary care. They are an essential part of our team and we appreciate all that they bring to our profession.

Thank you Katelyn and Hailey for the wonderful job you do!

Updated Payment Policies

We strive to provide you and your animals with prompt and efficient veterinary care. In order to maintain the level of service that you deserve and that we desire to deliver, we must receive prompt payment for the services we provide. Payment will be expected in full at the time of service, unless prior credit arrangements have been made. We want to ensure that everyone is made aware of this policy so that we can all start into this exciting new chapter on the same page. If you have any questions regarding this new policy, please feel free to contact our office.

Quarterly Newsletters

We strongly believe in client education, and we heard through a number of our survey responses that you value this too. We intend to organize educational meetings as we have done in the past, though we would like them to be held on a more regular basis. In addition to meetings and events, we would like to touch base with you more frequently in the form of quarterly, species-specific newsletters. Enclosed with this update is the first of these newsletters. We hope you find them helpful and if there is a topic you would like to see covered, please do not hesitate to contact the office with your suggestions.
