Last day of pregnancy and the first day of life!

► Roundtable and open forum with Dr. Rob Tremblay

The day of freshening is a big event for both the cow and the calf. There are lots of little details to help the cow or heifer start out well on her lactation and help the calf start out well in life.

This seminar discussed many of those details that may not take much time or cost very much but can give big benefits to the cow and to the calf.

There was no formal presentation, just an introduction followed by a roundtable discussion including all participants, with an objective of sharing knowledge amongst dairy farmers.

ProAction Update – More Information in May & June Updates!

All of our dairy producers are intimately familiar with the CQM and ProAction programs. Many will have heard that the next part of ProAction will be rolling out this September 2019. This program is the Biosecurity component of ProAction. In order to help our dairy clients navigate this new program Dr. Christie Ryan has been trained as an advisor.

COVS will be hosting several regional classroom sessions where Dr. Ryan will go over the Biosecurity program as well as touch on points from previous programs that have come up as priority areas to discuss again. Additionally, there is an option for producers to have private on-farm sessions with Dr. Ryan for a more personalized overview and advice on the program.

More information will follow as the classroom sessions are planned. If you have any questions or concerns about the program, please do not hesitate to contact the office, and check back on this page, as more information will be posted as it becomes available.
