Updates – November 2018

We are pleased to announce the new name of our practice, Central Ontario Veterinary Services. Our thanks go to Dr.Christie Ryan for suggesting our new name, which we think it is a good description of who we are, and whom we serve. Thank you to those who attended our open house on October 21st to be the first to find out our new name, to share some refreshments, and to visit with our veterinarians, our technicians, and our families. If you were not able to make it to the open house, please feel free to stop by the office during business hours and pick up a free pumpkin for your autumn baking or augmenting your animals’ diet.

New Website and Email:

Our new website, centralontariovet.com has now been launched, and we invite you to look it up and learn more about us and what we offer at Central Ontario Veterinary Services. Check out our growing number of fact sheets on a variety of topics. If there is something you would like us to cover in a fact sheet, please let one of our veterinarians or technicians know. New information is being added to the site every week.

Our telephone number remains the same, but our email address is now info@centralontariovet.com.

You can also find us on Facebook at Central Ontario Veterinary Services.

Autumn Equine Education Symposium

Please join us at Georgian College at 7:00 PM on Wednesday November 28th for our Autumn Equine Education Symposium. Dr Stoddart and Dr Hunnisett will be discussing how we recognize and manage Equine Metabolic Syndrome and Equine Cushing’s disease. These diseases are being diagnosed more frequently and are often responsible for conditions such as laminitis.
Refreshments will be served.

The event is generously sponsored by Boehringer Ingelheim Canada. We will be accepting donations of $2 at the door to help Equine Guelph carry on their important work in equine research, education and health care. Please feel free to invite your friends, and to let us know how many will be attending.

RSVP by November 14th to our office by telephone (705-722-3232) or email info@centralontariovet.com).

Ultrasound Pregnancy Diagnosis for Cows and Sheep is now available with our new, more portable ultrasound scanner. Please contact the office for pricing and booking. This is an ideal time to find out who is bred and by how long, and to plan to culling or re-breeding of those who are not. Dairy herds can set up a regular schedule with us for routine post-calving and pre-breeding checks, early pregnancy diagnosis, detection of twins, and investigation of repeat breeders.
